Nahj-ul-Balagah is a collection of selected sermons and letters of Amir al-mu'minin Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as) presented by Syed Sharif in the form of a bouquet. Those people who are unfamiliar with the Arabic language and literature need a translation of Nahj-ul-Balagah to understand it. For Urdu readers, Allama Mufti Jafar has presented its Urdu translation with great effort. In this article, the translation of Mufti Jafar Hussain has been analyzed and critically reviewed. This review examines the merits of this translation and the difficulties faced by contemporary Urdu readers in it.
