Abstract

People of the world have different ideologies for prosperity in human life. As some of them consider human existence as limited to this world, so they have given a plan of goodness and welfare on basis limited to this world . According to them, man should get maximum comfort, peace and pleasure in this world; because nothing is to be gained after death.

On the contrary, some people kept in view the hereafter and are convinced of it but to such an extent that they have ignored the needs of the present world completely. They think all types of pursuit worldly comfort are an obstacle in the way of the goodness of hereafter. So, they give a lsson to live a life of monasticism by severing all ties with the world and the people of the world.

Meanwhile, Islam has shown the path of moderation by keeping its believers away from all kinds of excesses. In Islamic ideology, moderation is an excellent moral trait. This is the reason why Islam gives a lot of importance to moderation. In fact, Islam emphasizes upon moderation in belief, worship and all other activities. That is why Islam has emphasized upon moderation in the holy Quran and traditions.

In Islamic World, Hazrat Imam Ali (a.s.) is one world is on the

perfect level of asceticism, but at the same time, he seems to be so much busy in the settlement of the world affairs. He (a.s) also laid great emphasis on moderation in his golden words and sermons and have ordered moderation in various fields.

In this short paper, an attempt has been made to find patterns of moderation in the light of the words of Imam Ali (peace be upon him).
